Campus Catalyst Grant Funding Announcement
The Community Sponsorship Hub (CSH) is pleased to announce a second round of funding through the Campus Catalyst Grant.
Deadline Extended to Wednesday, July 31!
Campuses planning to welcome refugee students at their institutions through the Welcome Corps on Campus for the academic year 2025-2026 can now apply to support their institution’s participation in the Welcome Corps on Campus. Campuses can apply for up to $15,000 per refugee student, which can be used over a 2-year grant period. Please note, Campus Catalyst Grants are awarded to campuses applying to the Welcome Corps on Campus to be matched with a refugee student abroad who is identified as an academic fit for their institution. Grants are not available to institutions to cover participation for specific refugee students they referred to the program at this time.
To be considered for funding, an institutional representative must submit their application online by 11:59pm ET on Sunday, July 14, 2024. Please note that this application is different from the sponsor application submitted to participate in the Welcome Corps on Campus.
Funds will be disbursed directly to higher education institutions and can be applied to student accounts to cover direct costs such as tuition, housing, meal plans, etc. Funding awarded by the Campus Catalyst Grant cannot be used to cover overhead or any administrative costs related to campus’ participation in the program.
CSH anticipates sharing award decisions by mid-August. If awarded, final funding is contingent on campus sponsor groups being certified and successfully matched with a refugee student identified by the program. Academic placements will take place between December 2024 to March 2025. Funds will be disbursed once refugee student travel dates are confirmed which is expected to be in the summer/fall of 2025.
We expect that the demand for funding will exceed the funds currently available. We ask institutions to consider their financial needs carefully and apply for the amount needed to ensure program participation. This will help CSH fulfill our goal of allowing as many campuses as possible to participate in the Welcome Corps on Campus.

About the Campus Catalyst Grant
The Catalyst Fund was established in late 2019 to help organizations across the United States develop, implement, and enhance community sponsorship programs. In 2023, the Catalyst Fund introduced a new funding initiative, the Campus Catalyst Grant, to support the launch of the Welcome Corps on Campus. In its first funding round, nine campuses were awarded grants enabling them to welcome refugee students in the fall of 2024.
